A boldly designed vintage Seiko from the mid-1980s that wears more like a piece of jewelry than a conventional watch. The octagonal case flows seamlessly into a wide bark-textured gold-tone bracelet — an integrated design statement that was very much in the spirit of the era’s love affair with sculptural, architectural watchmaking. No visible bracelet, no separate case — just one continuous golden form on the wrist.
At 16mm the case is petite and delicate, but the wide bracelet gives it a substantial, confident presence. The champagne dial with slim baton markers keeps the face quiet and refined against the textured gold surround. This is the kind of watch that draws compliments from people who don’t even wear watches.
The watch presents beautifully overall. The acrylic crystal is clear and free of scratches, the dial is clean, and the bark-texture bracelet retains its character well — with only minor edge wear on the sides where the plating has lightly worn through, consistent with its age.
