Bring a piece of department store history to your collection with this extraordinary Paul Cardew Limited Edition Bloomingdale’s Teapot, produced in 1994 and made in England by the renowned Cardew Design studio.
This exquisitely detailed ceramic teapot is modeled after the iconic façade of Bloomingdale’s, complete with raised architectural features, tiny storefront entrances, and four colorful national flags. The spout and handle are finished in rich gold glaze, the handle itself forms a striking ampersand-like flourish, while the removable lid is topped with a gleaming gold ball finial. Every detail reflects Paul Cardew’s celebrated craftsmanship and eye for whimsical yet functional design.
On the underside, this teapot bears Paul Cardew’s signature and the handwritten inscription “For Bloomingdale’s ’94,” along with the official Cardew Design stamp. It is also hand-numbered 73/100, marking it as one of only one hundred pieces ever produced exclusively for Bloomingdale’s. Few Cardew teapots are this limited, making it a true crossover collectible for both teapot enthusiasts and Bloomingdale’s memorabilia collectors.
